William Douglas Davison III

	William Douglas Doug Davison III, 74, of Robertsdale, Alabama, formerly of Du Quoin, died Saturday evening at 8:49 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
	Mr. Davison was born December 9, 1926 in Du Quoin, Ill., the son of William D. Davison, Jr. and Elizabeth (Weinberg) Davison. He was married to June Bossle.
	Years ago Mr. Davison served as circulation manager of the Du Quoin Evening Call newspaper, with whom his aunt was connected. He was a member of the Loxley (Alabama) United Methodist Church. A member of the American Legion, Mr. Davison served his country in the army in the infantry from 1946-1954 and left the service with the rank of staff sergeant.
	Survivors include his wife June Davison of Robertsdale, Alabama; two sons William D. Davison IV of Bourbannis, Illinois and Thomas John Davison of Houston, Texas; one daughter Pat Green of Du Quoin; a stepdaughter Cathy J. Long of Robertsdale and three stepsons Kevin B. Owen of Atlanta, Ga.; Jeffrey S. Owen of Foly, Alabama and Eric A. Owen of Robertsdale. Also surviving are six grandchildren (a seventh preceded him in death) and10 stepgrandchildren.
	A memorial service was held this evening (Monday) at 6:30 p.m. in Crain Funeral Home Pleasant Grove Chapel with Rev. Katherine Graves of the First Christian Church of Carbondale officiating. Burial was in the National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi.
